Insightful Session on Public Policy and Taxation at IIM Raipur
On August 21, 2024, the Academic Committee, IIM Raipur, in close collaboration with the PGP office, hosted an enlightening session on the “Role of Public Policy and Taxation in Business.” We were honored to have Shri Mohanish Verma, IRS, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Delhi, as our esteemed speaker.
With an illustrious career spanning 36 years in Indian Direct Tax, Shri Verma brought a wealth of knowledge to the table, guiding us through the intricacies of taxation and public policy. His insights covered a comprehensive range of topics, from the various types of taxes to the complexities of transfer pricing, all within the Indian and global contexts.
This session provided our students with a deeper understanding of how public policy and taxation play pivotal roles in shaping business strategies. Shri Verma’s expertise and practical examples enhanced our academic learning and offered valuable perspectives on the real-world implications of tax laws.
